Bond have confirmed to HeliHub.com that they will be moving their rig support flights from Blackpool Airport to Warton. This airfield, better known as the production line for Eurofighters for BAE Systems, is approximately 8 miles to the south east.
John Fyall from Bond said “To ensure continuity of services, Bond Offshore Helicopters is transferring its flights to the nearby BAE Systems Warton Site in Lancashire.
We continue to work with our customers to develop a long-term solution.”
Tomorrow (Wednesday 15th) is the last operational day at Blackpool – after which the airfield becomes “unlicenced” – and Bond expect to start operations from Warton on Thursday.
