Helicentre Aviation 2014 Scholarship Winners Announced

Helicentre Aviation have awarded helicopter pilot training scholarships with a combined value of over £80,000 to five of their
student pilots following a two month intensive interview process. A total of 24 scholarship applications were received.

James Geary from Kent was awarded the commercial pilot scholarship which will fund all his hour building up to CPL(H) on the Bell 206, Robinson R44, Robinson R22, Cabri G2 and Schweizer 300, as well as covering the cost of his commercial flying course which will enable him to start working as a commercial helicopter pilot as soon as he obtains his professional licence.

Michael Circus from Worcester was awarded the flight instructor scholarship which will cover the cost of his flight instructor course. Michael has also been offered a full time position at Helicentre Aviation which will enable him to start flying charter work on the Bell 206, and as soon as he completes his instructor course his flying duties will extend to training new pilots.

Edward Terry from Durham was awarded a 10 hour advanced training course on the Cabri G2, and William Carder and James Hynes have been awarded theoretical knowledge scholarships which will cover the cost of their ATPL(H) and CPL(H) theoretical knowledge courses assisting them on their way to becoming commercial pilots.

Applications for the 2015 scholarships are now open and the company has also announced it will awarding one sponsored place to fund the selected PPL(H) holder all the way through to flight instructor with a two year salaried position at thecompany’s base at Leicester Airport.
