Subsequent to a comprehensive audit of administrative documentation, medical practices, and facilities, NAAMTA is awarding Classic Lifeguard with its second term medical transport accreditation for their fixed- and rotor-wing program. As a result, Classic Lifeguard is being award NAAMTA Accreditation and we are proud to have them continue in their role within the NAAMTA Alliance, and thus are privy to the benefits associated.

Classic Lifeguard demonstrated compliance in each of the numerous standards, offering documentation on processes for safety, aviation, and medical practices. NAAMTA found their compliance to be evident through employee interviews, on-site evaluations, and process reviews, all of which was conducted using ISO 9001:2008 auditing guidelines.

After a medical transport organization attains accreditation through NAAMTA, they must demonstrate ongoing compliance in the form of yearly reports. These reports give evidence of the organization’s continued efforts at complying with NAAMTA Standards and improving medical transport practices internally and externally.

About Classic Lifeguard

Classic Lifeguard (http://www.classicairmedical.com) was created in response to the need for air medical evacuation services, from scene calls, search and rescue, as well as inter-facilities from one hospital to another. Classic Lifeguard dedicates helicopters and specialized flight crews to hospitals upon request. The origin of their operations can be developed at any hospital by working together to create rapid life flight services.

Classic Lifeguard officially began in 1988 with one helicopter, a pilot, and a medical crew of two basic-level Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). For more than 25 years, the ever-expanding Classic Lifeguard has been filling the needs for emergency air medical transport services receiving calls from multiple EMS and law enforcement agencies, hospitals, and clinics in Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.
