Garmin launches more classes for pilots

16-Feb-2015 Source: Garmin

We are thrilled to announce expanded pilot training opportunities for 2015, which will include more live classes and eLearning courses! Just as we have for the last several years, we will again offer scheduled classes for the GTN 650/750 touchscreen navigator series and G500/G600 glass flight display systems, in addition to on demand G1000, G3000, and G5000 Integrated Flight Decks classes. Live scheduled classes are held locally at Garmin Headquarters in Olathe, Kansas and provide customers with a hands-on approach to learning Garmin avionics in a classroom environment taught by experienced certified flight instructors.

Our pilot training classes offer customers a lot more than just hangar talk. At our G600/GTN 650/750 training class, you can expect to gain a better understanding of the new touchscreen user interface while practicing on an actual GTN 650/750 and G500/G600 kiosk over the course of a two-day class. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to practice flight planning, loading and activating approaches, arrivals, and departures, as well as the opportunity to practice unique procedures that you may not receive in your every day flying. Even more valuable, you will have the chance to ask questions and offer suggestions directly to Garmin – so be sure to bring your list of detailed scenarios and questions!

Cost to attend this course is $625. The 2015 class dates are as follows:

March 19-20
April 23-24
May 16-17*
June 18-19
September 17-18
October 22-23
November 12-13

Pilots may also take advantage of training classes tailored specifically to the GTN 650/750 touch screen series. Several one-and-a-half day classes are available and cost $495 to attend. This course highlights GTN-specific procedures and are held on the following dates in 2015:

April 9-10
June 6-7*

Since class sizes are limited, you will receive the one-on-one attention you deserve and ensure that all of your questions are answered. Garmin is conveniently situated between two, Class D airports for those who choose to fly in for training. New Century Air Center (KIXD) and Johnson County Executive (KOJC) are both less than 15 minutes from Garmin Headquarters in Olathe, Kansas.

For customers interested in web-based online courses, Garmin is pleased to offer eLearning courses for the G3000 and G5000 Integrated Flight Decks and Link 2000+. These eLearning courses walk pilots through the departure, enroute and arrival phases of flight and are self-paced. Garmin also plans to introduce eLearning courses for the GTN and airborne weather radar later in 2015. For additional information and to access these eLearning courses, visit: https://fly.garmin.com/fly-garmin/training/.

If you are interested in attending any one of our G600/GTN 650/750 training classes in 2015 or if you are interested in on-demand Integrated Flight Deck pilot training, please e-mail aviation.training@garmin.com or call 866-739-5687 FREE. While these training classes do not entail any type of exam, I promise you’ll be thankful you refined and expanded your Garmin avionics skills after these classes!
