Breeze Eastern Corporation (NYSE MKT: BZC), the aerospace industry’s only dedicated hoist and winch specialist, is completing initial system development and is on track to flight test and begin qualification on its MissionView™ Situational Awareness System in the next several months.

The MissionView System is designed with integrated sensors that wirelessly transmit real-time color video and relevant data to all crew members, conveniently displaying user data on a tablet computer. With MissionView, personnel in the aircraft can monitor information such as cable payout/direction, hook load, and aircraft/hook height above the ground. Recorded footage and data also remain available for after-action review and training, with additional benefits for maintenance support.

Breeze-Eastern CEO Brad Pedersen believes that MissionView “is the most significant improvement to the rescue hoist in more than 50 years,” adding that operator input has been key to shaping the product’s capabilities and features. An initial model of MissionView, known as concept Alpha, was initially introduced at Heli-Expo 2014. The feedback from this initial introduction and subsequent developmental evolution led to the design of today’s system, known as MissionView Bravo.

A MissionView Bravo prototype and DC brushless motor for legacy products will be on display in the Breeze-Eastern exhibit 4032 throughout Heli-Expo 2015, March 3-5 in Orlando, Fla.  Technical briefings are also available. The exhibit will feature a private innovation room where Breeze-Eastern will preview and request operator feedback on several other planned product
