Columbia Helicopters gets $63M extension to Afghan contract

Two companies have been awarded contracts for rotary wing aircraft, personnel, equipment, tools, material, maintenance and supervision necessary to perform passenger and cargo air transportation service. Columbia Helicopters Inc., Aurora, Oregon, was awarded a $63,644,013 modification (0002-31) to previously awarded contract HTC711-11-D-R021. The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $377,093,731 from $313,449,718. AAR Airlift Group Inc., Palm Bay, Florida, was awarded a $65,121,714 modification (0001-41) to previously awarded contract HTC711-10-D-R026. The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $628,491,392 from $563,369,678. Work will be performed in Afghanistan, with an expected completion date of April 30, 2016. Fiscal 2015 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $63,644,013 and $65,121,714, respectively, are being obligated at time of awards. The U. S. Transportation Command Directorate of Acquisition, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, is the contracting activity.
