Russian Helicopters military aircraft participate in Red Square victory parade

Mi-26, Mi-28N Night Hunter, Mi-35M, Ka-52 Alligator and Mi-8/17 military helicopters built by Russian Helicopters (part of State Corporation Rostec) took part in the flight programmes of today’s parade ceremonies on Moscow’s Red Square and in towns and cities across Russia to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the Russian Great Patriotic War in the Second World War.

About 150 aircraft were involved in the victory parade on Red Square. The helicopter line-up included crews from the legendary “Berkuty” (Golden Eagles) display team flying Mi-28N Night Helicopters.

The crew of the helicopters taking part in the parade comprised top-class professionals with the outstanding flying abilities needed to carry off such flights. The victory parade programme was thoroughly rehearsed, and the performance on May 9 was delivered to great acclaim from spectators drawn from all across Russia and from other countries.

Military helicopters supplied to the Russian Defence Ministry undergo regular maintenance by Russian Helicopters specialists. All helicopters involved in the flight programme underwent additional servicing ahead of the victory parade.
The Defence Ministry is the biggest customer of the Russian helicopter industry.

Today Rostvertol, Progress Arsenyev Aviation Company, Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant and Kazan Helicopters – all of which are Russian Helicopters companies – supply a wide range of military helicopters to the ministry in strict compliance with approved delivery schedules. The aircraft supplied include the Mi-28N Night Hunter combat helicopter, including in dual-control version; the reconnaissance and combat Ka-52 Alligator; Mi-35M military transport; Mi-8AMTSh and Mi-8MTV-5 medium transports; heavy Mi-26; and light Ka-226. All of these models are offered for export to Russia’s military-technical cooperation partners.

Russian Helicopters, (part of State Corporation Rostec), is one of the global leaders in helicopter production and the only helicopter design and production powerhouse in Russia. Russian Helicopters was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Moscow. The company comprises five helicopter production facilities, two design bureaus, a spare parts production and repair facility, as well as an aftersale service branch responsible for maintenance and repair in Russia and all over the world. Its helicopters are popular among Russian ministries and state authorities (Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Emergency Control Ministry), operators (Gazpromavia, UTair), major Russian corporations. In 2013 its IFRS revenues increased 10% to RUB 138.3 billion. Deliveries reached 275 helicopters.

State Corporation Rostec is a Russian corporation founded in 2007 for the purpose of promoting the development, production and export of hi-tech civilian and military industry products. It comprises 700 organisations, nine of which have now been formed as holding companies of the military-industrial complex, five of them are involved in civil industries and 22 are directly controlled. Rostec’s portfolio includes recognised brands such as Avtovaz, Kamaz, Russian Helicopters, and VSMPO-AVISMA. Rostec’s organisations are located in 60 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and supply their products to the markets of more than 70 countries. The revenue of Rostec in 2013 amounted to RUB 1.04 trillion. The tax deductions into the treasuries at all levels exceeded RUB 138 billion.
