Bell Helicopter has expressed its concerns about the US Army retiring almost 800 helicopters, with a view to possibly sell the helicopters to foreign consumers in the global helicopter market. As part of the aviation restructure initiative (ARI) the U.S. Army is beginning to retire all of their OH-58D armed scout helicopters and TH-67 trainers, with the latter to be succeeded by LUH-72 Lakota light utility helicopters from Airbus Helicopters.
