The world’s leading Heli-Skiing operator swapped its skis and snowboards for hiking boots and backpacks with the launch of the 2015 summer season this week.

Best known as the pioneers of Heli-Skiing, Canadian-based CMH also invented Heli-Hiking 37 years ago and continues to offer travellers unparalleled opportunities to explore the most beautiful and least-visited parts of the Purcell Mountain range in southeastern British Columbia.

From leisurely guided walks and hikes to adventurous mountain exploration, CMH Summer experiences cater to all ages,
abilities and exertion levels, and take place amid pristine alpine wilderness recognized by National Geographic as one of Canada’s “Places of a Lifetime.”

“From our backcountry luxury getaway at CMH Bugaboos to the adrenaline-infused adventures of CMH Bobbie Burns, we offer
helicopter-accessed entry into one of the most picturesque mountain environments on earth,” begins Joe Flannery, President of CMH. “The advantage of reaching these mountain regions via helicopter is that we can offer outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to explore stunning terrain that would otherwise be inaccessible or take days to reach. We then whisk our guests away by air to enjoy the upscale dining and relaxation of our mountain lodges.”

The classic CMH Heli-Hiking adventures involve daily, expertly-guided treks through the remote, far reaches of some of the most striking mountain landscapes in the world, with guests’ often spotting wildlife like grizzly bears, moose, lynx, elk, bighorn sheep and wolves along the way. For those seeking an added adrenaline rush, CMH High Flying Adventures include North America’s longest via ferrata – a series of iron rungs, cables and bridges offering assisted mountaineering.

Highlights of the summer season will include specialized painting and photography workshops hosted by renowned painters
Stephen Quiller and Elizabeth Wiltzen, as well as noted wilderness photographer John E. Marriott of Banff National Park. In addition, respected environmentalist and wildlife expert Brian Keating will entertain guests as Adventurer-in-Residence at CMH Bobbie Burns lodge August 5-8.

CMH Summer runs from mid-July to the first week of September and includes three and six day trips. For more information
