Japanese Coast Guard picks Heli-One for Super Puma G-Check

Stavanger, Norway – The Japanese Coast Guard(JCG) has selected Heli-One, the world’s largest independent helicopter MRO, to deliver a major overhaul to an AS332L1 aircraft at Heli-One’s facility in Stavanger, Norway.

Using a mixed fleet of aircraft, the Japanese Coast Guard delivers border security and search and rescue services on behalf of the Japanese Government.
Anthony DiNota, President of Heli-One, said that this is the first time the Japanese Coast Guard has sent major maintenance work outside of Japan.

“The decision to award the contract to Heli-One reflects the Japanese Coast Guard’s confidence in our commitment to work to a world-class standard and to return their aircraft to its valuable work in Japan as soon as possible,” said Mr. DiNota.

The contract, calls for Heli-One to complete a major overhaul, or G-Check, on the AS332L1. The work began last month and will be completed at Heli-One’s facility in Stavanger, Norway.

The 215,000 square foot facility is known for its expertise and experience in supporting helicopter operations in Europe and around the world.
