The new Airbus Helicopters H135 G-HIOW was delivered to Hampshire and IOW Air Ambulance at Thruxton on Saturday 24th October, and is currently working alongside the previous EC135T2 G-KRNW – which in turn is better known for the time it spent in Cornwall.

G-HIOW is seen photographed here (and © Copyright 2015) by Keith C Wilson just prior to delivery from Bond Air Services’ base at Gloucestershire Airport.  It becomes the second H135 in operation in the UK, only a couple of weeks after Thames Valley Air Ambulance put their own new aircraft into service at Benson, Oxfordshire.  G-HIOW is in a very similar scheme to Hampshire and IOW Air Ambulance’s original EC135 G-BZRS.  Key differences include the obvious external changes with the H135 model – and lack of stabiliser end-plates being the most obvious.  The new aircraft also features a full-time Trakka searchlight, and the wording along the side lists Hampshire and IOW Air Ambulance’s newer and shorter website address and the personalised registration.
