Bond extends offshore Irish EC135 contract for another five years

Bond have renewed their contract with Kinsale Energy for a further five years from 1st January 2016 to 31st December 2020.  The British-based operator and will continue to base an offshore-configured EC135T2+ at Cork Airport for this work, which calls for the transfer of personnel and equipment to and from the gas fields 50km off the south coast of Ireland.  Bond’s base there employs 11 staff, including pilots, engineers and check-in.

PSE Kinsale Energy Limited, (formerly Marathon Oil Ireland Limited), has been producing natural gas from its facilities off the Old Head of Kinsale since 1978. The company was acquired by Malaysian company Petronas in April 2009 and currently employs 60 people. They operate the Kinsale Head, Ballycotton and Seven Heads Gas Fields in the Celtic Sea, and a natural gas storage field called Southwest Kinsale.

Prior to Bond winning the contract in 2010, flights were operated by CHC with a 365N Dauphin between 1995 and 2010
