Heliservices in Hong Kong is preparing to add a third MD Explorer to their fleet.  Serial 900-00116 was acquired from Pegaso in Mexico, the helicopter has routed via the FAA register for some sort of paperwork reason.  The FAA has now cancelled the “N” registration N902HS with the advice that it has been transferred to Hong Kong.

Heliservices (HK) already have two MD Explorers, and have extensive experience with MD Helicopters and a long history of operating and maintaining the MD500 series.  The first pair were acquired from UK and Switzerland.  The move to twin-engined operations was prompted by restrictions on raised helipad operations, particularly on the Mandarin Oriental hotel. While both of the first two were prepared in the UK by Specialist Aviation Services, the third example has been worked on exclusively by HS in Hong Kong

Heliservices was formed in 1978 as the first rotary-wing service provision company in Hong Kong. Heliservices provides a multitude of aviation services including flightseeing tours, aerial filming and photography, banner towing, VIP charter services, aerial surveying, lifting and construction work and power line and inspection services. Heliservices also provides aircraft management and maintenance services with its own fully-certified Hong Kong HKAR Part 145.
