VIH Aerospace (VIHA – www.vihaerospace.com), a leading provider of helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services; and a specialist in designing Supplemental Type Certified solutions for the Sikorsky S-92 helicopter has reached a delivery milestone of 22 auxiliary fuel tank systems to Bristow Group (Bristow). VIHA is exhibiting at Heli-Expo 2016 — Booth # 1209.

“We are proud of the success we have experienced in regard to our Auxiliary Fuel Tank installation and its acceptance and utilization throughout the international S-92 fleet,” says Arne Arneson, General Manager of VIH Aerospace. “With the addition of this ship set to Bristow, VIH Aerospace S-92 Auxiliary Fuel Tank Installations are now deployed or fitted for deployment in more than 36 helicopters world-wide, operating primarily in the offshore oil and gas and search and rescue sectors.”

The VIH Aerospace S-92 Auxiliary Fuel Tank Installation is designed to safely and effectively increase the range and endurance of the S-92A helicopter. The installation is flexible in design, allowing for fast installation of either a one or two tank configuration (depending on mission requirements) and providing capacity of 150 U.S. gallons of fuel per tank. The tank installations can also be used in combination with passenger seat configuration.

The required modification consists of an under-floor reinforcement structure for the main cabin, fuel quantity indicating system, airframe fuel manifold, Auxiliary Fuel Transfer and Refuel Management
cockpit control panels, a wiring harnesses and one (or two) composite auxiliary fuel tanks.
