Robinson announces collective-activated hour meter for R22

Robinson announces collective-activated hour meter for R22

Robinson has announced that a collective-activated hour meter along with an updated hub and redesigned main rotor spindles are now
standard on all new R22s.  This supercedes an oil-pressure-activated meter which records all engine run time. The new collective activated meter records collective-up (flight) time and does not include engine warm up and cool down time.

The new meter and redesigned spindles benefit R22 buyers because the collective-activated meter can extend component lives by up to 12% and the redesigned spindles are not subject to repetitive dye-penetrant inspections.

Existing R22s can be upgraded with the collective-activated hour meter, and Robinson Helicopter Co have issued R22 Service Letter SL-67 available in this regard.
