Russian Helicopters completes tail of Yak-152 fixed wing trainer prototype

Russian Helicopters has made the first experimental tail set for the new Russian Yak-152 light trainer aircraft. The project is implemented jointly with Irkut Corp, which is building four prototypes of promising aircraft at the Irkutsk aviation plant.

The structure of the tail of Yak-152 includes more than 250 items, which are produced at the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant of Russian Helicopters.  Three more tail sets are targeted for completion by the end of July 2016, one for a flying prototype, the other two will be used for static and life tests.

UUAP Managing Director Leonid Belykh said that long-term cooperation with Irkut Corporation is of strategic importance to UUAP, citing the development of staff and technological  abilities for the company as a whole.
