The accompanying photo is the first published image of the new AgustaWestland AW169 for Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance in the UK. This aircraft will replace an MD902 Explorer at their base on the old RAF Waddington military base. Currently being flown on the Italian test registration I-RAIS, the intended British registration G-LNAC is visible. The aircraft is serial 69023.
This aircraft will be the second of the batch of six ordered by Specialist Aviation Services, who are currently working on the medical completion of the first aircraft, which will be delivered to Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance. The other four will be delivered in time to Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and two for Children’s Air Ambulance.
Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance confirmed the charity’s decision to upgrade to the AW169 at Helitech International 2015.
