The Chair of the AAMS Nominations Committee has announced that the election for representatives for the 2016 – 2018 term on the AAMS board has come to a close, and we welcome a few new faces! Regions 3, 4, and 5 were up for re-election as well as two At-Large Director Seats.

Ted Ryan, MBA, RN, EMT-P was reelected as AAMS Region 3 Director. Ted is the System Director at Ministry Spirit Medical Transportation in Central, WI. Ted started his career as a paramedic in public service and worked his way up into the hospital setting as a flight nurse/paramedic, then into hospital administration. Ted’s leadership qualities and continuous communication to AAMS Members will be a great quality for the AAMS Board.
Deborah Boudreaux, MSN, RN, CCRN, C-NPT, LP, CMTE, was reelected as the AAMS Region 4 Director. Debbie is the Program Director at Teddy Bear Transport in Fort Worth, TX. She has been a nurse for over 20 years with the Cook Children’s specializing in Neonatal and Pediatric Transports. Debbie is the current chair of the AAMS Pediatric (KIDS) Special Interest Group, and will continue to be a great asset to the AAMS board.
Douglas Garreston, EMT-P, CMTE, was reelected as the AAMS Region 5 Director. Doug is the President and CEO for the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western PA, Inc. /STAT MedEvac. Doug has over 40 years in the career and volunteer sectors of EMS, Fire and Rescue Services in various positions including Director of the Public Safety Training Academy overseeing Police, Fire and EMS education, retiring as Chief of EMS in 2004. Doug has been active in AAMS, NEMSMA, and AOPA. Doug has served on the AAMS Board since June of 2013. He has since served on the AAMS Board Executive Committee for the past two years.
 René Borghese, BSN, RN CMTE, has been elected to the AAMS Board as one of the At-Large Director Positions. Rene, a first time AAMS Board Member, is the Program Manager at Duke University Hospital Life Flight in Durham, NC. René has over 15 years of experience in the air medical industry. René’s passion, commitment, and motivation highlight the qualities which are highly encouraged on the AAMS Board.
Christopher Hall, FP-C, CMTE, was reelected to one of the AAMS At-Large Director Positions. Chris is the Business Operations Manager for Government Affairs & Industry Relations at PHI Air Medical LLC. He is the Past President on the IAFCCP Board and is active in other industry associations. Chris is active on the AAMS Government Relations Committee as well as Chair of the Membership Committee, the Education & Standards Committee, and as the Board Liaison for the DO SIG. Chris has also been on the AAMS Board Executive Committee for the past two years. His active leadership in the industry will continue to add to the AAMS Board.
