The state government of India has received a proposal to introduce helicopter tourism to Kodaikanal Hills. In the proposal, Minister for Forests, C. Seenivasan has said that they have found a suitable site near Vilpatti and are currently studying to see whether it would be feasible.
Studies include the monitoring of animal migration patterns. The elephants’ migration seems rampant at Pethuparai, Bharathi, Nagar, Anna Nagar, Anju Veedu and Puliyur. They have needed special forest teams to move the elephants back into reserve forests, reports The Hindu.
