Prince Country Hospital will receive $200 000 in upgrades to their heliport. Health PEI’s Capital Repairs and Maintenance Fund is providing the money for the upgrade. Journal Pioneer reports that new perimeter lighting will be installed, as well as obstruction lights, replacing the fence line, repainting the helipad markings, increasing the size of the helipad by relocating several parking lots.
During the 10 week construction, patients needing LifeFlights will be taken to Slemon Park by Island EMS.
