Cayman Islands – Faith Hospital Receives New Helipad

Faith Hospital held their opening ceremony on October 3rd of their new helipad. This new helipad provides the Cayman Islands with a sorely needed emergency landing area. As reported by Cayman Compass, the use of a helipad will greatly reduce the response time and the time it takes for critical patients to receive care. The helipad will also be used by the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service who will able to airlift emergency patients to Grand Cayman for further medical care, transport units of blood and bring in specialist doctors.

The hospital used to use a parking lot for emergency aircraft, which was cumbersome and left little privacy for patients. The new helipad is located behind the hospital, on land that was graciously donated by Mr. Robert Hurlstone.
