Russia has started work on a new experimental prototype, named the Lamprey Helicopter, which will be an advanced shipborne anti-submarine aircraft. Sputnik reports that CEO of Russian Helicopters, Igor Chechikov, has stated that the Lamprey will replace their Ka-27s. They hope to have the prototype ready soon after 2020, with mass production starting around 2026.
