Saudi Arabia has received the first shipment of their 24 Boeing AH-6i Little Bird reconnaissance and light attack helicopter deal. Boeing did not state it was Saudi Arabia, but in their in-house magazine Frontiers, they mentioned that the type was accepted in August 2016 by their first international customer. The US Army had no comment regarding the deal, apart from a notification by Federal Business Opportunities stating “the first 12 helicopters would be transported to Saudi Arabia as soon as possible.”
The rest of the shipment should arrive in February, reports IHS Jane. The AH-6i has an advanced payload, power-plant and avionics, as well as a large arsenal of 7.62mm and 12.7mm machine guns and AGM-114 Hellfire missiles.
