The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) has submitted plans for a new operational base as well as Medical Centre of Excellence. They plan to build the base at Urlay Nook. The plans include a 1,500 sqm hangar that can house three aircraft, dormitories and an office building, reports Cumbria Crack. The estimated total costs come to £3.9 million. They are busy raising these funds through grants through the LIBOR banking fine fund, reserves and fundraising.
