The Israeli Ministry of Defence has entered into negotiations with the Italian Ministry of Defence in order to purchase AW-119 training helicopters from Italy’s Leonardo. The new helicopters will replace their current Bell 206 training aircraft, which they bought in 1970. Bell and Airbus are also competing for the contract, offering GXP-407s and H-125s respectively.
