The Indian Environmental General Assistance Program office took samples of shellfish from around the Shoemaker Bay Helipad on June 12. The readings revealed that the shellfish were positive for saxitoxin, which can cause paralytic poisoning. Locals have been advised to avoid the shellfish, reports Wrangell’s Sentinel.
