The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems Europe (CAMTS EU) has posted the final draft of CAMTS EU Accreditation Standards for comments and suggestions on its website www.camtseu.org.
Sister organization to CAMTS, the largest and most respected medical transport patient care and safety accreditation organization in North America, CAMTS EU’s international standards offer fixed wing, rotorwing, and ground transportation providers the opportunity to raise the bar on safety and superior patient care in Europe and around the world. CAMTS EU supports most services regulated by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
“CAMTS EU standards work to bridge cultural differences and government restrictions and laws between countries to assure a high level of service to all patients,” said CAMTS EU Executive Director Eileen Frazer. “CAMTS EU accreditation addresses policies and practices so that patients receive state-of-the-art medical care during transportation with the utmost level of safety to maximize the medical outcome.”
Comments on the standards are requested by Aug. 15, 2017, to help the CAMTS EU board assure the strongest standards in the program.
CAMTS EU Workshops at Helitech International
To provide further information and accreditation assistance, CAMTS EU will present two workshops for attendees during Helitech International, Oct. 3-5, 2017, at the EXCEL in London, “Preparing for Accreditation” and “Just Culture.” CAMTS EU will also exhibit at the convention at H64 – US Pavilion, with CAMTS EU executive staff available to answer questions and share the newly published CAMTS EU Accreditation Standards, applications, and handouts.
CAMTS EU’s Medical Transport Systems Workshops will be held Oct. 4, 2017, in the South Gallery, Room 28 of the EXCEL:
“Preparing for Accreditation” will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This workshop includes a roadmap and materials to navigate the CAMTS EU accreditation process and a copy of the CAMTS EU 2017 First Edition Accreditation Standards and self-help tips on interpreting the standards, completing application materials, and preparing for a site visit.
“Just Culture” will take place from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. This workshop outlines a well-defined roadmap for supervisors to navigate the tricky waters of managing people, and for staff to better understand their areas of responsibility and accountability. Using the Just Culture Algorithm handout, attendees will learn how Just Culture concepts are uniquely pertinent to the medical transport environment.
Helitech International is free to workshop participants. Attendees must register as a trade visitor via the link at website: http://bit.ly/HelitechReg2017 to receive a badge to access Helitech and the workshop meeting room at the back of the hall.
Attendees will receive CEUs for each workshop. Please visit the www.camtseu.org website for details and registration for the workshops.
