The promoted physicist has many years of international experience in management, especially in the fields of corporate development, market and portfolio development as well as digital and agile business models. He will support the board of directors of the DRF Stiftung Luftrettung gemeinnützige AG in securing the successful positioning of DRF Luftrettung in the long term, in the face of increasing digitalization, growing European competition, rising skills deficit and a changing donor market. The goal is to continue to fulfill the charitable mission of the Luftrettungsorganisation from Filderstadt in the future with a high degree of quality and sustainability.

The DRF Luftrettung is deployed at 29 stations in Germany and two stations in Austria helicopters for emergency rescue and transport of intensive patients between hospitals, at nine locations in 24-hour operation. High-tech helicopters such as the H 145, the latest medical technology and special night vision equipment are used. For the worldwide retrieval of patients own ambulances are used. In total, the pilots, emergency physicians and rescue assistants of the DRF Luftrettung performed 38,015 missions last year.
