Robinson receives R66 big sales boost

Robinson Helicopter Co has a pre-announced price review policy whereby the company raises their list prices on 1st January every year.  There is then a rush to place a deposit in December to secure a “2017 price” aircraft, and potentially concluding the details in the early days of January.  The company distributes a regular report on projected lead times for new aircraft orders, with an ex-factory date for each of their five products.  Between Sunday 7th and Friday 19th of January, these projected dates moved as follows
R22 – from early April to late May
R44 Cadet – from late April to mid May
R44 Raven I – from late April to mid May
R44 Raven II – from mid May to mid July
R66 – from late April to early July
Before jumping to conclusions, there are various factors which can affect these dates, particularly the production rate on each product.  It is thus feasible that the production rate could have been reduced in this two week period, but given the company knows how their pricing policy affects orders, that seems unlikely in this window of time – but it cannot be ruled out.
It is clear that there has been a sales boost, most notably for the Robinson R66 turbine, but also for the Raven II.  The R66 may be on the back of the production line of the Airbus H120 stopping.
