Heli Operations has been issued a certificate of lawfulness by the Weymouth and Portland Borough Council. This means that there will be no need for planning permission and approval to use the Portland helicopter base as their training and search and rescue facility. They had issues late last year regarding their plans, as the council was worried that the use of the site would not be the same as what it was used previously for, reports Dorset Echo.
