Redmond Regional Medical Center have started on plans for a dedicated helipad. Patients are currently being flown in to a grassy open space in front of the hospital, while security blocks off traffic and ensure safety of pedestrians. The new helipad will be at the corner of Redmond Road and John Maddox Drive, and will be 70 feet across. The plans are still waiting for FAA approval, reports North West Georgian News.
