The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) are planning on building eight helipads around the city for more heli-taxi operations. This decision came after the success of the heli-taxi operation between Electronics City and Kempegowda International Airport. The new eight helipads will be maintained by private agencies, who will also build, operate and pay rent to BBMP. So far, they have been reserved for air ambulances, but commercial flights are being discussed, reports New Indian Express.
