The Shetland Islands Council voted for the Clickimin temporary helipad to retain on a permanent basis. The vote was supported by members of the planning committee, although local residents voiced their complaints. They are concerned over the noise the helicopter makes, the smell of aviation fuel and worry that it will devaluate property. The helicopter however is used in emergency situations only, with an average of 1.6 landings a month, reports Shet News.
