The Nepalese Government has had to launch an investigation into the tourism sector as there has been a wide raise in fraudulent insurance activities. The investigation revealed that the trekking and mountaineering agencies, who deal with the customer and rescue organisations, have been adding larger claims and fake bills to helicopter rescues. The 700-page probe report revealed that some would double the price of the helicopter ride, add multiple trips to a single flight as well as pushing clients to agree to hospitalisation for minor issues, such as altitude sickness. They are recommending that the rescue activities will be dealt with by the Nepal Police instead, reports News for Europe.
