A new Mercy Air Med helicopter for Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa has arrived and has been transporting patients since Tuesday, Patti Peterson, RN, director of the Emergency Department at Mercy-North Iowa (see full story).

The AirEvac Lifeteam helicopter base which is currently under construction on the campus of Great River Medical Center is nearing completion, according to Chris Raymer, GRMC’s Chief Operations Officer. During their Monday meeting, Raymer told the hospital’s board of governors that the base is expected to begin flights on April 1 (see full story).
