Development of the new eight-tonne battlefield support helicopter has been ongoing for the past five years and a full-scale mock up of the aircraft has is on display at the DSEi exhibition in London’s Docklands.
AgustaWestland unveiled a full scale mock-up of the TUHP 149 helicopter at IDEF 2009 in Istanbul today. The TUHP 149 is the AgustaWestland candidate for the Turkish Utility Helicopter Programme (TUHP). It is a new generation 8.1 ton medium lift multi-role helicopter designed to meet the military requirements of Turkish end users.
In a brief statement about future rotorcraft developments at the company during a press conference at Heli-Expo in Anaheim, California, CEO Giuseppe Orsi said the aircraft would fly in the coming months of 2009.
