The Indian Army is retiring their ageing fleet after recent accidents. They will be retiring their Chetak and Cheetah platforms and replacing them with 40 Dhruv LUHs and 200 Kamov Ka-226T “Hoodlum” helicopters. The Cheetah helicopter was on a routine air maintenance sortie when the crash landing took place at 0810 hours, IAF sources said in New Delhi. Defence Ministry sources said the two pilots on board the helicopter were injured and were evacuated to Leh for treatment.
