CALSTAR has the first helicopter in the world modified to allow for dramatically enhanced abilities and increased safety to make landings while using Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), Joseph Cook, CALSTAR’s President and CEO announced today.
ThedaCareâ€™s Board of Trustees announced today the Appleton-based integrated health system will lease a $6 million twin-engine Eurocopter E-135 from PHI Inc., a Lafayette, La., company that supplies the pilots and mechanics who work on ThedaStar. The aircraft will replace the current ThedaStar helicopter, which was purchased nearly 10 years ago.
Following the recent conversion of 17 aircraft to night vision compatibility, Rebetch has been chosen to modify an additional 32 aircraft for air medical transportation service provider, Air Evac EMS, Inc.
A SURGE in demand for the regionâ€™s air ambulance service has left the charity in desperate need of funds.Â The helicopters run by the Great North Air Ambulance Service were called out 154 times last month, compared to 75 times for April last year.
