The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today authorized the Sheriff’s Dept to buy as many as 14 new helicopters at a cost of about $56.7M. The LASD Aviation Bureau has a replacement policy of “7,000 airframe hours or 7 years”

Los Angeles Fire Department Orders A Third AW139

AgustaWestland announced Thursday at the ALEA Conference that the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) has signed for a third AW139. This aircraft will join the two AW139s already in service performing critical aerial fire-fighting, medevac and search and rescue missions in Los Angeles and the surrounding communities.
