AgustaWestland subsidiary PZL Swidnik will deliver four W-3A Sokol transport helicopters to the Philippines by November this year, with another four in the second quarter of 2012.Â The air force is also contemplating major avionics upgrades to its MD 520 light attack helicopters.
Hoping to boost the countryâ€™s capacity to respond to sea tragedies, the Aquino government has allotted P1.6 billion for the Philippine Coast Guard to acquire two new choppers equipped for SAR operations and other functions.
