Due to the continuing wildfire threat, San Diego-area emergency crews will have access to a large water-dropping aircraft until mid-December, a fire department spokesman said
The massive chopper, an S64E Helitanker, can scoop and dump up to 2,650 gallons of water per trip. It will be controlled by city fire officials but be available to fight blazes throughout the county during the next two months.
