Crashed on landing – the 68-year old owner of the helicopter Trygve Nils Svard was landing at his son’s house.  Helicopter started to spin and it was put down hurriedly, remaining upright but catching fire.  Photos show a trailer well within the rotor disc area at its final resting spot.  Pilot suffered minor burns only.

Ex-Life Link III CEO dead of apparent suicide

Carter McComb, the former CEO of air-ambulance company Life Link III who faced felony tax charges, has died of an apparent suicide, Florida authorities said.  McComb was arrested after a June raid on Minneapolis-based Life Link III’s offices. He was later charged with six felony counts of failing to file income taxes. (see full story)

The computer fell in the alley behind a home three blocks and across the Mississippi River from St. Cloud Hospital.  Hospital officials said Life Link III had just landed with a patient and was leaving the helipad when the crew’s computer was left on the helicopter’s skid.
