Sentara Norfolk General Hospital urged Currituck’s Board of Commissioners Monday night to consider donating $1 million to help replace an aging air ambulance helicopter that serves much of Northeastern North Carolina. “To replace the helicopter, it will cost approximately $7 million, but Sentara is committed to funding half the cost, or $3.5 million,†said Vicy Gray, senior corporate vice president of system development for Sentara Healthcare.
