Bond Aviation Group, one of Europe’s leading twin engined helicopter service providers, has returned to Ireland after winning a three year contract with Irish energy firm, PSE Kinsale Energy Limited – a wholly owned subsidiary of Petronas.
The contract, which has been awarded to the aviation group’s Ireland subsidiary, Bond Air Services (Ireland) Ltd, will involve crew change operations for Kinsale Energy’s offshore natural gas fields, off the south coast of Ireland.
Crew change operations commenced on 1 January 2010 from Cork Airport, where currently Bond are making a significant investment in new passenger handling facilities for the offshore crew working on the gas fields.
The firm has introduced a new Eurocopter EC135T2i for the operation and it is the first time that this aircraft type is being used in European oil and gas offshore operations.
The contract, which was last held by Bond in the late 90’s, has created ten new jobs at the recently incorporated Irish division of Bond Air Services, which was formed in response to opportunities arising in the Irish offshore market. The new jobs cover pilots, engineers and operational staff required to service the contract.
