Becker Avionics Inc. is pleased to announce that it will be exhibiting at the U.S. International Pavilion at FIDAE 2010 tradeshow in Santiago, Chile, from March 23-28.

FIDAE is Latin America’s leading Aerospace tradeshow bringing together major participants in the worldwide aeronautics sector. Markus Schmitz, President and General Manager, commented: “We value FIDAE as an excellent venue to reach the Latin American Aerospace and Defense Market and to expand our business presence in the region.” He continued, “At this year’s show, we are showcasing our newest generation Personal Locator Beacon (PLB), the MR 510, as well as our hottest selling product, the DVCS 6100 Digital Audio and Intercom System.”

The Becker Avionics Marketing and Sales team welcomes everyone to stop by the booth (#C39B) to learn more about our state-of-the-art avionics solutions, including:

• The DVCS 6100 – the leading Digital Audio and Intercom System in its class
The DVCS 6100 has been designed for both rotary and fixed-wing applications, and fully reflects Becker Avionics’ proven know-how of more than four decades in audio system development for the aerospace industry. Since the market introduction of the 1st DVCS generation, almost 700 systems have been placed into service, all having achieved outstanding field reliability. The result of continuous product improvements has made the DVCS 6100 another Becker Avionics success story.

The system is superior to any analog system, as it offers crystal-clear voice communication quality, a proven Man-Machine-Interface (MMI), outstanding reliability, as well as scalability and flexibility because the system is fully software configurable. The main system components of the DVCS 6100 system are the Remote Electronic Unit (REU) 6100, the Audio Control Unit 6100-or ACU6101, and the external Intercom Amplifier IC3100.

The DVCS’ performance and scalability has led to numerous installations in a diverse mix of rotary and fixed wing platforms, including, but not limited to the following models: AS350, BO105, EC135, EC145, MD900, Bell 412, Sikorsky S-70A, DO228, MA-600, Pilatus PC9, L-410, King Air 350, DHC-5 Buffalo, Dash-8, and the C-130.

• Personal Locator Beacon (MR 510)
With many years of proven experience gained with the reliable MR 506/ MR 509 PLB, Becker Avionics announces a new model, the MR 510. Features include; reduced weight, size, power consumption, new water activation, V/UHF voice communication, and 12 channel GPS based on the latest technology. The result is the most advanced PLB available today.

• Mode S Transponder (BXP 64XX Series)
Becker Avionics recently TSO certified a new Mode S Transponder line, the BXP64XX (Class 1 and 2) with different design factors, to meet future transponder technology requirements by enhancing safety and situational awareness with aircraft traffic information.

The remote-controlled version of the Becker BXP series has been selected by international aircraft manufacturers for “glass cockpit”, integrated avionics solutions. The 250 watt (Class 1) model is complemented by the smaller 2 ¼”, 150 Watt (Class 2), single block unit, with extremely low power consumption. This model is particularly suited for light aircraft and gliders.

• 160mm Mode S Transponder
The latest 160mm Dzus mount Mode S Transponder was specifically developed for the retrofit market and replaces the Bendix King KT-76A transponder with the same size panel fit, but with a much shallower depth.

• VHF/AM  Radio Transceiver (AR 6201)
The new high performance, compact, AR 6201 VHF-AM Transceiver with 8.33 kHz channel spacing and integrated voice activated (VOX) intercom system for up to four passengers. Built using state-of-the-art DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology, the AR 6201 continues the legacy of its predecessor, the AR 4201 VHF-AM transceiver, which set the bench mark for reliability and performance in its class. With more than 18,000 units sold, the AR 4201 has been the trustworthy companion for thousands of pilots flying millions of flight-hours.
