PWC and FlightSafety to Expand Global Training Network Capability

Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) today announced a long-term collaboration agreement with FlightSafety International (FlightSafety) to expand the company’s global training network capability and enhance the customer training experience for all P&WC customers around the world. P&WC customers and employees alike will have access to FlightSafety’s world-class learning facilities and a strong technology-based training curriculum for the full range of P&WC engine products. Pratt & Whitney Canada is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.

In an effort to enhance the Customer Service experience for P&WC customers, the company launched its Customer First Centre in 2007 and has been taking frontline services to the next level ever since. P&WC’s comprehensive service portfolio includes: Field Support Representatives on all continents; Mobile Repair Teams available around the clock; an extensive parts distribution network that grows every year; the largest pool of P&WC rental and exchange engines in the industry; an industry-leading Eagle Service Program (ESP® program); a customized Fleet Management Program (FMP® program); and the most comprehensive warranty coverage in the industry.

FlightSafety: A World Leader in Aviation Training
FlightSafety is a leading professional aviation training company for commercial, government and military organizations. FlightSafety provides more than a million hours of training each year to pilots, technicians and other aviation professionals from more than 150 countries. FlightSafety operates one of the world’s largest fleet of advanced full flight simulators at Learning Centres and training locations in Canada, the United States, Europe, South Africa and Asia.

FlightSafety’s Learning Centre in Montreal, Canada will lead the effort to support Pratt & Whitney Canada customers and employees.

Online and Interactive Training for All

For the duration of the agreement, FlightSafety will manage daily operations as well as develop and produce courseware material and provide Learning Management System (LMS) capabilities. P&WC will oversee the global customer-training program.

P&WC customers and employees will also gain access to a greater volume and variety of online learning tools as a result of this collaboration agreement. FlightSafety will use new and innovative technology (Learning Management System (LMS) and Learning Content Management System (LCMS)) to maintain and update P&WC’s courseware in Canada, which includes online and interactive training and all materials for technical courses.
FlightSafety’s technical training programs offer in-depth classroom and hands-on instruction designed to develop, expand and refine proficiency. The company’s industry leading maintenance training courseware and curriculum meets worldwide regulatory requirements and provides technicians with highly effective training that supports their efforts to maintain aircraft and their engines to the highest standards.

Customer maintenance technicians will also benefit from FlightSafety’s use of full-scale systems trainers, major component cutaways, working models, maintenance task simulators and a large variety of test equipment used to demonstrate procedures and reinforce the information learned in the classroom.
