Elbit Systems of America, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ:  ESLT) will present its family of cutting edge avionics in booth #427 at the Army Aviation Association of America 2010 Annual Convention. The convention, in Fort Worth, TX, will take place April 14th–17th 2010 with Elbit Systems of America’s Airborne Solutions team set to showcase an impressive display of innovative products.
The following will be on display at the Elbit Systems of America booth:
Central Mission Processor/Block III Mission Processor

The central mission processor is the first configuration of advanced processors that Elbit Systems of America will provide in support of the Boeing Apache program. A full performance Block III mission processor has been delivered to Boeing and is the cornerstone for the Block III Apache program. With up to 25 general purpose and four graphics processors, the mission processor provides the basis for implementation of SoSCOE and FCS for the Apache. A true open systems architecture is achieved with the leverage of commercial, off-the-shelf products that provide Army aviation with a high performance, scalable and maintainable system for future applications that require the full performance necessary for next generation computing capabilities. The central mission processor/mission processor architecture is scalable and suitable for multiple platforms, providing advanced general and display processing for current and future needs.

Integrated Helmet & Display Sight System-21

Advancing the capabilities of Apache pilots, Elbit Systems of America’s Integrated Helmet & Display Sight System-21 (IHADSS-21) is one of the most reliable and cost effective solutions on the market for rotor-wing aircraft, providing increased resolution over the legacy IHADSS. The new and improved IHADSS-21 incorporates the capabilities and ease of use to fully support mission success and crew safety. This advanced system is currently in production with a solid history of reliability and mission success. With the IHADSS-21, the Apache aircrew is provided with accurate night vision capabilities.

CH-47F/UH-60M Improved Signal Data Converter

The Improved Signal Data Converter (ISDC) processor is part of the Aviators Night Vision Imaging System Head Up Display (ANVIS/HUD®) solution. Selected by the U.S. Department of Defense rotary wing fleets, ESA’s ANVIS/HUD® is integrated onboard more than 14 different helicopter models, covering 3,000 U.S. platforms. The ISDC processor takes an electronic signal from the helicopter sensors and converts them into flight and engine trend information for display either on the legacy ANVIS/HUD® night optics or on the new lightweight flat panel Night or Day HUD optics. The displayed information reduces in-flight workload and enhances situational awareness by projecting information directly in front of the pilots’ eyes during flight. The ISDC meets and exceeds all US Army qualification/production requirements within a significantly smaller processor footprint while providing unique, visual environment growth.

JEDEYEâ„¢, Advanced Helmet System

With its ultra-wide field of view and razor-sharp images, JEDEYE™’s exciting features and unique lightweight design meet today’s complex battlefield challenges and demands. JEDEYE™ is an excellent solution for Apache and other rotorcraft, allowing pilots to take in the entire scene. Wider than ever areas of ground and sky are displayed with crystal clear, high resolution focus, providing improved situational awareness, enhanced combat effectiveness and advanced sensor fusion. The difference is in the field of view and the advanced algorithms and electronics driving the system. JEDEYE™ brings the pilot’s capabilities to a new realm and addresses the special needs of helicopter pilots.

Helmet Display and Tracker System

Elbit Systems Head Up Display (HUD) is used on virtually all U.S. Army UH-60 Blackhawks and CH-47 Chinooks and features flat panel day and night displays. Elbit Systems of America’s cutting edge magnetic helmet display and tracking system (HDTS) was selected for installation into the RAH-70 ARH to reduce the pilot’s workload and improve crew coordination. The HDTS is a relatively simple upgrade to the standard HUD via the addition of a line-of-sight card to the signal data converter, a boresight reticle unit, and the magnetic transmitters and receivers. The HDTS HUD symbology allows crew members to know exactly where the other pilot is looking, thus improving crew coordination. HDTS can accurately drive weapon systems or FLIR pods, reduce crew workload with hands-free operation, slave or slew weapon/FLIR systems with the “big picture” rather than using a multi-function display and designating fixed points on the ground via “point and click”. ESA’s HDTS uses qualified components already in the DoD inventory currently operational on numerous platforms such as CH-47, UH60, CH-53, CH-46, UH-1, V-22, HH-60L and more.

Center Display Unit

The Center Display Unit (CDU) adds a new operational dimension to fixed and rotary wing cockpits with an ergonomically designed system for pilot effectiveness and comfort, offering high resolution sensor imaging, situational awareness, advanced digital map applications, real-time processing and imaging of flight safety information and multifunctional equipment that replaces analog gauges, preserving flight safety. The CDU can be installed on both fixed and rotary wing aircraft, using existing harnesses, and offers clear and highly visible imagery both day and night with NVG compatibility. The CDU provides multiple processing environments for flight safety under any flight conditions, “WINDOWS®” processing capability and open architecture. Elbit Systems of America has recently completed aircraft integration and Safety of Flight (SOF) testing, and the CDU is easily upgradeable to higher levels of integration with other aircraft avionics.
