Zephyr International LLC has completed the delivery, installation and training on three Rescue Hoist Hanger Test Facilities in three locations for the 160th SOAR(A). The Rescue Hoist Hanger Test facilities, when used in conjunction with their previously purchased Rescue Hoist Ground Support Equipment (AKA, “the Zephyr”), allow the 160th SOAR(A) to maintain their rescue hoists to a higher level of proficiency, resulting in the ability to gain control over their maintenance costs and better control the availability of their rescue hoist assets

The hoist test facilities allow the operation over the complete load and speed regime and facilitate the maintenance of the three types of rescue hoists in service with the 160th SOAR(A).In addition the Rescue Hoist Hanger Test Facilities allow rescue hoist maintenance training to be accomplished without tying up operational assets.

Prior to having these test facilities the maintenance personnel had to deconfigure an aircraft in order to install the rescue hoist under maintenance and then reconfigure the aircarft requiring TI signoffs after the maintenance actions required were completed. By using the Rescue Hoist Hanger Test Facilities to maintain their rescue hoists at the intermediate level the SOAR(A) estimate significant annual cost savings.
