HeliHub.com is pleased to bring you first photos of G-LNCT, a new MD Explorer being prepared for Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.  Purchased to replace a 10-year old example registered G-LNAA, the new aircraft was first registered with the UK’s CAA on 23rd August and has been esconced within the Specialist Aviation Services complex at Gloucestershire Airport.  Until today that is.  Courtesy of flygloster.co.uk we are able to bring you the first available outdoor photo of ‘CT, caught this evening as the light was dropping.  For a larger photo, click here.
The order for this helicopter was announced by Specialist Aviation Services at Helitech 2009, held exactly a year ago at Duxford.  HeliHub.com reported the story here at the time.  The new helicopter is an extension of the original contract held by SAS subsidiary Medical Aviation Services, who will both operate and maintain the aircraft – which will be based at RAF Waddington.  The unit flies approx 450 hours per year, a typical figure in UK EMS operations.
