American Eurocopter, the nation’s leading provider of helicopters for the U.S. emergency medical services industry, announced today that it will again be exhibiting at the Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, October 11 – 13, 2010. The company’s industry leading helicopters account for a significant portion of the helicopters providing emergency medical service (EMS) support throughout the United States. Two of these helicopters, an EC130 from Pensacola Baptist LifeFlight and an EC145 Cleveland Metro Life Flight, will be displayed on the American Eurocopter booth number 1423.

The EC130 is operated for Baptist LifeFlight by Air Methods. The EC130 has a variety of standard safety features that have made the model the aircraft of choice for a variety missions including helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) missions. The EC130 comes standard with digital cockpit technology, dual hydraulics, dual channel FADEC with analog backup, and of course the enclosed Fenestron tail rotor for additional safety. The aircraft also offers the largest cabin in its class to help facilitate patient care and accommodate special equipment including neo natal isolettes.

The EC145 is owned by Cleveland Metro Life Flight and operated by Metro Aviation. The EC145 also provides the largest cabin size in its class, which allows for maximum flexibility and configuration options. The aircraft’s size, performance, payload capacity and unmatched visibility really set the EC145 apart from its competition. With its high set main and tail rotors, rear-loading clamshell doors, and large cabin the EC145 has become a platform of choice for many missions, particularly HEMS flights.

Both of the helicopters will be displayed on the American Eurocopter booth 1423. Specialists from American Eurocopter, Baptist LifeFlight and Cleveland Metro Life Flight will be on hand to address questions about the aircraft and the programs.
